The Reds are all the way back.  It was an offensive explosion by the cincinnati Reds.  They beat the padres 2-0.  They had 3 hits.  2 of those were by Elly De La Cruz.  
Andrew Abbott went 7 innings giving up only 4 hits and obviously 0 runs.  His ERA drops to 2.668
Fernando Cruz and Alexis Diaz finished off the game with 2 combined innings and 3 strikeouts. 
Tonight the Reds are back at it tonight with Nick Martinez on the bump for the Legs.  He enters play with a 4.23 ERA.  He will go up against Michael King who comes into tonight rocking a 4.31 ERA.  
Jake Fraley left the game after getting hit by a pitch.  The x rays came back negative for a fracture.  
David Bell expressed his frustration by throwing a chair.

Brewers beat the Marlins 7-5
Pirates walk off the giants in extra innings winning  7-6.  Oneil Cruz hit 3 balls over 115 miles per hour.  That is the first in the statcast era
The phillies beat the Rangers 5-2. Ranger suarez went 7 innings giving up 5 hits and striking out 10.  Suarez is 9-0 on the season with a 1.36 era

The Celtics beat the Pacers 133-128 in overtime.  Jaylen Brown’s clutch 3 forced overtime and jayson tatum took over from there.

Ive got a fever and the only prescription… is more losses.  They lost last night to the Connecticut Sun (singular) 88-84. Caitlin clark had to leave the game temporarily for an ankle injury but returned to finish with 17 points.  She did add 5 more turnovers.  She has 26 turnovers through 4 games.  
NHL
Oilers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and thats all they would need to beat the canucks in game 7 by a score of 3-2.  
NBA tonight
The pacers and the Celtics square off in Boston at 8 pm for game 1 of the series.  Celtics are 9.5 point favorites.
Justin jefferson
He was spotted leaving his hotel in a chauffeured car in florham park which is 3 minutes away from where the jets facility is located.  He was not at OTA’s for minnesota 
Tee higgins still has not signed his franchise tender and is not expected to do so by next week
Peak or Valley
Jonathan india, won the rookie of the year in 2021 and has been on a sharp decline since
Alexis Diaz, was an all star closer but over the course of the last 18 games, has been a bad pitcher.  Has he peaked or is he just climbing out of a valley?
Fernando Cruz, started the season with the highest whiff percentage in the league, but in his last 19 innings, hes given up 13 hits, 11 earned runs and 12 walks 
Santiago Espinal was an all star in 2022 with the Blue jays, since then hes hitting 223 with a 275 obp 
Luke maile was a serviceable player last season and we thought could play a critical role for the reds this season. He is hitting 158 with a 273 obp and a slugging percentage of 240.

The Reds mustered up 3 hits yesterday afternoon against the arizona diamondbacks in the series finale
Andrew Abbott was excellent going 7 innings giving up 4 hits and only 1 earned run.  He did strike out 4 as well.
Brandon Fahdt looked like prime Randy Johnson against this lineup.  He went 7 innings as well only allowing 2 hits and striking out 9. 
Santiago Espinal’s solo home run was the only run production of the game for the Reds. 
Elly was benched and India was scratched with a migraine 
The big news somehow wasnt the loss, it happened before the game when Nick Lodolo was put on the injured list for a groin injury.  
The Reds are back at it tonight at 10:10 where Brent Suter will act as the opner against Tyler Glasnow

Celtics win the series over the Cavaliers 4-1 after winning last night 113-98 . Jason Tatum scored 25 points with 10 boards and 9 assists in the win.  Al horford contributed 22 points in the win as well.  No donovan mitchell proved difficult as nobody could produce any offense other than evan Mobley who scored 33 points. 
The Mavericks won 104-92 to take a 3-2 series lead over the thunder. Luka dropped a 31 point tripe double in a bounce back performance.  Derrick jones jr added 19 of his own to help the cause.  
Tonight, game 6 of the nuggets vs timberwolves series heads back to Minnesota where the nuggets have a 3-2 series lead and are 2.5 point dogs

The Avalanche stay alive beating out dallas stars 5-3
MLS
FC cincinnati scored a goal off the header of Kevin Kelsy in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 lead.  
That lead stuck all the way til the end and the orange and blue have won 5 consecutive games.

The pga championship is underway at valhalla golf club in louisville kentucky, and we have 5 guys off to an excellent start at 2 under par.

Lets travel back to that moment, get away from the current reds, and fondly recall that winning streak that brought baseball back alive in cincinnati. No matter what the situation was, you felt like the reds would win….. Facing a tough pitcher, theyd score enough to win. Down three in the ninth….they’d walk off to gapper dancing on the field. It’;s a great feeling right? Well the same is true in baseball when the wheels are falling off. No matter what the situation, you konw as a fan they’re going to blow it. Alexis diaz has by and large been great for this team oliver the last two years…..in fact, hes been among the very best closers in the national league. But in september last season, he ran out of gas. He was lit up in spring training and we wondered on this show i\f he was gonna be okay. He’s pitched a total of 14 innings this season and allowed 27 baserunners….. 12 hits and 12 walks and three hit batters. All of those happened in the arizona ninth inning last night. Hit batter Out Walk Walk 2-run game winning hit by? Kevin Newman…..remember him? 6-5 the final….A Heartbreaker for sure. After all, the reds battled all night against left jordan montgomery. Scored twice against the arizona bullpen to take the lead in the eighth. The reds stand at 17-24, 7 games behind milwaukee, and tied for dead last in the nl central with the cardinals….and the cardinals stink. Tonight it’s hunter greene against righty slade cecconi. First pitch 9:40 P eastern. The hits just keep on comin….literally and figuratively . After missing the first month and a half with an injury…..it’s back ti the IL for centerfielder TJ Friedl . He was hit by a pitch on the hand over the weekend in san francisco. That hand has a fracture in it……out 4-6 weeks. Business side of baseball….. Mlb signed a deal with Roku to nationally stream MLB games on Sundays starting next season. Football news, The full schedule will be released tomorrow but they give you nuggets leading up to big day. Yesterday we learned the nfl’s season opener has the chiefs hosting the ravens. Guess who’s week 2? The bengals at kansas city! Thats a sunday 4:25 start at arrowhead. Will the bengals be on primetime this season? You know they will….. Who would you want to see them play if you could pick one home game and one road game? We will discuss that topic later. The jets will start the season week 1 on a monday night at san francisco. It will mark the return of aaron rodgers…not only to the jets but he grew up in the bay area.

Frankie Montas had a no hitter coming into the fifth inning and then it was ended swiftly as the giants started hitting missiles off him.  He threw 4.2 innings giving up 7 hits 4 earned runs only striking out 3

And the Cubs win the series over pittsburgh with a 5-4 win yesterday.  They scored 3 in the top of the 10th.  
NL Central standings 
Brewers lead the division by a half game at 24-16, the cubs are right behind them at 24-17, the pirates have jumped to third place in the central and are 6.5 games back.  The reds are 7 games back with a 17-23 record.  The cardinals are a game behind them.  
NBA
Celtics lead their series 2-1 after beating the cavs 106-93.  Tatum scored 33 points and brown wasnt far behind dropping 28 points.  
Mavericks took a 2-1 lead in their series on saturday winning 105-101 on the back of PJ washington. He led the mavs scorers with 27.  
The pacers win by 32 points yesterday over the Knicks to even up their series at 2 a piece.  121-89.  Haliburton led the way for Indy with 20 points.  Jalen brunson struggled from the field shooting 6-17 and 0-5 from behind the arc
The nuggets even up their series with the Timberwolves winning 115-107 last night.  Both teams now 0-2 at home.  Jokic dropped 35 points7 rebounds and 7 assist in the win.  Aaron gordon added 27 points as well.  Anthony edwards did all he could scoring 44 points but nobody else helped him.  
The pistons try their best to lose every game they play but they get rewarded with the 5th overall pick in the upcoming draft.  
NHL
Canucks lead their series 2-1 over the oilers after winning 4-3 yesterday.  
The panthers lead 3-1 over the bruins after winning 3-2 yesterday.  Bruins blew a 2-0 lead.  
MLS
Hell is real! Fc cincinnati won 2-1 over the columbus crew in columbus.  It was 0-0 heading into the 74th minute but kevin kelsy scored the go ahead goal.  Acosta followed that up with a goal not 2 minutes later.  
Rory wins the wells fargo championship by 5 strokes.

The Reds were back yesterday.  It was a day after an off day, so theyd surely look refreshed right? Not really.  The Reds lose 6-2 in game 1 to the arizona diamondbacks.  Zac Gallen went 6 innings striking out 6 and not allowing a run.

Frankie Montas in his return looked sharp going 6 innings giving up 1 earned run while striking out 7 as well. 
The Reds sent down Sam Moll with a 0.00 ERA.  I didnt think it would be a terrible move because justin wilson was pitching great.  That was until yesterday.  Justin Wilson essentially ended the game as soon as he came in giing up 4 hits and 4 earned runs while recording 1 out before being yanked.  
Jonathan India and Tyler Stephenson both hit solo home runs when the game was already decided.  
3 total hits for the reds offense as the average falls to .207
They are back tonight with Graham Ashcraft taking the bump for the Redlegs and jordan Montgomery taking the hill for the diamondbacks.  Montgomery comes into town with a 5.63 ERA.  surely tonight the offense will come back?

Rangers stomp on the Sacramento Athletics 15-8.  They had a 10 run second inning.  
Tigers win 11-7 over the Cleveland Guardians .  Neither starter made it past the third inning

Nationals shutout the orioles 3-0.  Jesse winker added two more hits with a double in that one.

The Chicago cubs Walked off the San Diego padres in the bottom of the ninth inning on a Michael Bush solo shot.

The Brewers were down 5-3 and down to their final out in the top of the ninth against the Royals.  Willy Adames hits a go ahead 3 run blast to give the Brew Crew a win.  
Mets beat the cardinals 7-5
Giants shutout the Rockies 5-0
Dodgers no-hit bid ends on the first pitch but they still manage to cruise past the marlins 8-2

The Celtics appear to be coasting to the NBA finals as they eviscerate the cavaliers in game 1 120-95. 
Derrick White dropped 25 points and has now hit 20-37 three pointers in his last 4 games.  
Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 32 points 
Mitchell did his part for the cavs scoring 33 points but it wasnt enough 
The Thunder rolled last night winning 117-95 over the dallas mavericks.  
Irving led the way for the Mavs only scoring 20.  Luka only scored 19 points 
Shai Alexander scored 29 points leading the way for the thunder en-route to the win
NHL
The Rangers take a 2-0 series lead over the hurricanes after winning again last night 4-3.  Vincent Trocheck’s goal ended a marathon double overtime game.  
The Stars took a 3-0 lead after the first period.  They would not score another goal while the Avalanche would score 4 goals to take game 1 in Dallas in overtime.

The Reds were off yesterday but they announced Sam Moll was heading down to Triple A. There will be a corresponding roster move today.  We can assume that will be Frankie Montas, and if that is true the reds can only have 13 pitchers on the roster.  He was one of 3 guys with options.

Dodgers beat the Marlins 6-3 but the story of the game is Shohei ohtani hitting his fourth home run in 3 days.  
The Rangers gain some distance from the athletics as they win yesterday 4-2 over oakland.  
Brandon Nimmo for the Mets hit the go ahead home run in the 7th which would stick until the end of the game.  Mets win 4-3 over st louis 
Twins have won 13 of 14 and got back to their winning ways last night winning over the mariners 3-1
Padres beat the Cubs 6-3.  Justin Steele went 4 and two thirds innings giving up 3 hits and 2k’s but not allowing any runs
Every game Milwuakee plays in is close and low scoring but the Brewers fall to the Royals 3-2 last night
Rays are looking to get revenge over the white sox after chicago swept them two weeks ago.  They won 8-2 last night
The pirates beat the Angels 4-1.The Angels have 3 wins in their last 18 games.

Jalen brunson has now scored 40 in 4 straight games as the knicks survive against the pacers.  Referees took over the game with a questionable illegal screen call.  121-117 the final score there.  Haliburton only contributed 6 points on 6 shots in 36 minutes.  Knicks lead 1-0 in the series 
Timberwolves lead 2-0 in that series after obliterating the Nuggets 106-80.  It was never close.  Nuggets drop both games at home and now head to Minnesota.  Karl anthony towns scored 27 points adding 12 boards.  Anthony edwards also scored 27 points.  On the losing side, Jokic only managed 16 points.  Aaron gordon led the way with 20 points.

The bruins lead 1-0 in that series winning 5-1 over the panthers last night.  Bruins goalie Jeremy swayman made 38 saves.
