• They have won 3 games in the last 17 games. The Padres are 10-7 in their last 17.  Andrew Abbott has a 3.06 era and he will be facing joe musgrove.  Joe has a 6.37 era. This is his first start since he faced the Reds on May 1st where he went 6 innings giving up 4 hits and 2 earned while striking out 9.

• Dodgers win 6-4 over the diamondbacks.  Freddie freeman hitting a grand slam in that one
• The angels won 9-7 over the Astros. Astros have won 7 of their last nine
• Cardinals beat the orioles 6-3
• Royals crushed the tigers 8-3.  Javy baez is hitting 203 with a 230 obp and an ops of 500
• Red sox shutout the Rays 5-0
• Nationals blow out the Twins 12-3.  Jesse Winker hit another home run
• Marlins win 3-2 over the brewers. 
• Braves shutout the padres 3-0
• Guardians beat the mets 3-1
• Blue jays crush the white sox 9-3
• Padres win the first game of the double header 6-5

WNBA

• Ive got a fever and the only prescription… is more losses.  They lost last night to the Connecticut Sun (singular) 88-84. Caitlin clark had to leave the game temporarily for an ankle injury but returned to finish with 17 points.  She did add 5 more turnovers.  She has 26 turnovers through 4 games.  

NHL

• Oilers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and thats all they would need to beat the canucks in game 7 by a score of 3-2.  

NBA tonight

• The pacers and the Celtics square off in Boston at 8 pm for game 1 of the series.  Celtics are 9.5 point favorites.

Justin jefferson

• He was spotted leaving his hotel in a chauffeured car in florham park which is 3 minutes away from where the jets facility is located.  He was not at OTA’s for minnesota 
• Tee higgins still has not signed his franchise tender and is not expected to do so by next week

Peak or Valley

• Jonathan india, won the rookie of the year in 2021 and has been on a sharp decline since
• Alexis Diaz, was an all star closer but over the course of the last 18 games, has been a bad pitcher.  Has he peaked or is he just climbing out of a valley?
• Fernando Cruz, started the season with the highest whiff percentage in the league, but in his last 19 innings, hes given up 13 hits, 11 earned runs and 12 walks 
• Santiago Espinal was an all star in 2022 with the Blue jays, since then hes hitting 223 with a 275 obp 
• Luke maile was a serviceable player last season and we thought could play a critical role for the reds this season. He is hitting 158 with a 273 obp and a slugging percentage of 240.
